Our Story

A Practice Built Around a Particular Need

Ratana Niti opened its doors on Rama IV Road in 2008, founded by a small group of lawyers who had each spent years observing the same pattern: individuals reaching retirement age with genuine questions about their pension entitlements, and very few places offering a calm, thorough, and straightforwardly honest answer.

The firm was named with the Thai words for "prosperity" and "law" deliberately joined — a reminder that the law, when applied thoughtfully, is a tool for fairness, not complexity. That principle has shaped how we work with every client since.

Today, our focus remains narrow by design. We work exclusively on pension entitlement matters, dispute advisory, and formal appeals. This concentration means our advisers have developed a depth of familiarity with the relevant frameworks — Social Security Act provisions, civil service pension regulations, and the appeal routes available under Thai administrative law — that a general practice would not typically hold.

Our Mission

To Make Pension Matters Manageable

Many of the people who come to us arrive feeling uncertain — sometimes after a decision has been made about their pension that they did not fully understand, sometimes simply because they want to know whether they are receiving what they are owed. Our role is to bring clarity to that uncertainty without adding pressure.

Focused Practice Area

Pension law only — no generalised legal work. This keeps our knowledge current and our advice precise.

Client-First Approach

Each matter is handled by a named adviser. You are not passed between departments or asked to repeat yourself.

Clear Path Forward

Every engagement begins with a plain-language explanation of options. You decide how to proceed with full information in hand.

How We Work

Professional Standards We Hold Ourselves To

Lawyers Council Registration

All practising advisers hold current licences issued by the Lawyers Council of Thailand and maintain their continuing professional development requirements.

Client Confidentiality

Information shared with us is held in strict confidence under professional privilege. Documents are stored securely and not disclosed to any third party without explicit consent.

Written Engagement Terms

Before any work begins, we provide a written summary of the scope, the approach, and the fee. Nothing proceeds without your understanding and acceptance of these terms.

Regular Progress Updates

We contact clients at defined intervals with a clear account of progress. You will never need to chase for an update.

Impartial Assessment

We provide an honest appraisal of each matter, including where the prospects are limited. We do not take on cases we do not believe can be advanced responsibly.

Personal Data Protection

We handle all personal data in accordance with the Thailand Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and maintain appropriate technical safeguards.

Our Values in Practice

What Drives the Way We Work

Pension entitlement sits at the intersection of a person's working life and their financial stability in later years. The decisions that affect it carry real weight. We approach each case with that in mind — not as a transaction, but as something that matters to the person sitting across from us.

Thai pension law draws on several frameworks that can overlap in complex ways, particularly for individuals who have held both private and public sector positions during their careers. We have spent years becoming familiar with these intersections, so our clients do not have to.

We believe that good legal work is mostly about communication. Explaining where a client stands, what their options are, and what each option involves — in terms they can actually use to make decisions — is the core of what we do. The documents and filings follow from that clarity, not the other way around.

Our office in Pathum Wan is open to walk-in enquiries during office hours. We also welcome correspondence by phone and email for those who prefer to make initial contact that way.
